Fingerprint door locks usually use AA (No. 5) or AAA (No. 7) batteries. The specific model depends on the design of the lock. Some high-end models may use rechargeable lithium batteries or CR123A lithium batteries.
Mainstream battery models and features
AA (No. 5 battery):
The most common power supply solution for fingerprint locks, usually requires 4-8 batteries in combination, and the battery life is about 6-12 months.
Advantages: low price (such as Nanfu alkaline batteries are about 2 yuan/battery), strong compatibility.
Risk: Long-term use may leak and corrode the circuit board, and regular inspection is required.
AAA (No. 7 battery):
Mainly used for ultra-thin smart locks, with a small capacity and more frequent replacement.
Alternative battery solutions
Rechargeable lithium battery:
Including No. 5 nickel-metal hydride batteries (such as 2700mAh capacity, 500 cycles) or dedicated lithium battery modules, which are environmentally friendly and have low long-term costs, but the initial investment is high (such as 8 batteries + charger is about 200 yuan).
Note: The low voltage of NiMH batteries (1.2V) may cause false low-battery alarms, and the lock must support voltage compensation.
CR123A lithium battery:
Military-grade weather resistance, suitable for villas or extreme climate areas, but expensive.
